Violence Against Women (VAW) Intervention Program

Services are available at no cost to women who are or have been in a violent or abusive relationship. The Violence Against Women Intervention Program focuses on the impact of abuse on one’s life and how to successfully rebuild your life. Individual and group counselling are available to women.

If you want to know more about how the program will assist:

Increasing self-esteem and independence;
Stoping feelings of guilt or shame
Helping with isolation;
Defining dependency;
Increasing understanding of a healthy relationship;
Helping develop a safety plan for you and your children;
Better understanding dynamics of abuse, power and control.

Physical violence
Verbal abuse
Emotional/psychological abuse
Sexual abuse
Spiritual abuse
Coercion and threats
Control and isolation
Constantly minimizing, denying and blaming you
Negatively influencing children against their mother
Demanding “male privileges”
Financial abuse
Being irrationally jealous and possessive
Stalking and harassment
